Check-in was a nightmare as my staff had me booked under a conference rate, then extended it another day under my name. Another night I ate at the steak restaurant with a local friend of mine and had an excellent steak (even if I did pass the $400 A5 grade wagyu steak). I had one dinner at Emeril's restaurant which my business colleague thought was excellent and I thought was average. The remodeled rooms were outstanding and very nice. Casino floor area is very similar other major 80's/90's resorts - lower ceilings (translation heavier smoke), but nothing special. This was the only time I have stayed at MGM, but I have had dinner and/or drinks here many times. I think I now have completed my stay at pretty much every major hotel property on the strip in the last ten years. I was in Las Vegas for conference and colleague booked this hotel.
